One Paddington Square

The team at DesignPlusLight turned to Stoane Lighting to co-design and fabricate a standout chandelier that carefully balances corporate with luxury.

Dominating the 16th floor hospitality level of BREEAM Excellent One Paddington Square in central London, the 11.8m long masterpiece comprises 890 individual brushed, brightened and gold anodised aluminium rods, measuring between 350mm – 700mm in length. Just over half conceal a DALI controlled 3000K LED behind a custom frosted acrylic diffuser. The rods are carefully arranged and supported by a nickel champagne finished Rimex ceiling plate, assembled like jigsaw pieces and weighing over 900kg in total.

It was no ordinary build: we worked to millimetre tolerances, simplified complex wiring, carefully managed power distribution, built templates to guide installation and supported on site. This uniquely curved creation was born of close collaboration and planning.
